Kojima: Metal Gear Solid V Initially Had ’80s Filter

Metal Gear Solid V was originally going to have a movie filter that made it look like it was from the 1980s, series creator Hideo Kojima revealed.

Speaking on Twitter, the Metal Gear mastermind explained:

"RUSH" had very 70's texture & tone of film. In fact we studied 80's image & developed "80's filter" for MGSV as TPP is placed in 1984.

But when we actually implemented full screen effect, it was too heavy that slowed the system down so we had to take it out.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, the prologue to The Phantom Pain, launches next month on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3. Will you be picking up a copy on day one?
