Electronic Arts has been keeping the lid tight on The Sims 4, and as a fan of all things The Sims, I've been trying to keep my blood pressure low before E3. Thankfully, the developers have dropped a new in-depth trailer on the Create-a-Sim tools for The Sims 4 in a nearly five-minute walkthrough narrated by producer Ryan Vaughan.
The best part of the video is Detail mode, which highlights adjustable areas on the face and the body, allowing players to mold every part of a Sim with ease. The number of options from jawline depth, shoulder width, and muscle mass density is similar to the robust character creation from the WWE titles by Yuke's, except now with the keyboard and mouse, this Create-a-Sim feature should be even easier for players to use.
Compared to The Sims 3, the number of menus seems to have been dropped significantly. Numerous presets will be available as templates for different racial features and styles. Better yet, you'll be able to select how a Sim will walk and swagger around town to reflect his or her personality.
Some specific traits for determining a Sims' personality will be based on their ambitions. For instance, selecting Genius, Bookworm, and Creative will lead to the Renaissance Sim ambition that unlocks an extra trait which allows the Sim to build skills faster.
Electronic Arts plans on showing another trailer detailing the build tools for creating a house soon.
