Electronic Arts has revealed the first piece of unedited 1080p gameplay footage (posted above) for the upcoming EA Sports UFC, featuring featherweight Jose Aldo and current UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis.
Highlighting a full round of fighting, the six-minute trailer first shows off the ultra-realistic presentation with a comparison of stats between the two fighters and a suited Bruce Buffer announcing the fight in the Octagon and introducing Yves Lavigne as referee. In the fight itself, it's not clear whether the stamina meter means much, though it could just be on an arcade setting.
The timer and round indicator in the lower-left-hand corner doesn't fade away, but I'm sure there's a way to make the entire game HUD-less. Msot of the round consists of stand-up striking with some superman punches and sidekicks for good measure, with only a couple of takedowns attempts. So far, EA Sports UFC looks to have a good balance between the fluidity of EA MMA and the complexity of UFC Undisputed.
EA Sports UFC releases just a week after E3 2014 on June 17, 2014 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
