We went hands-on with LEGO Minifigures Online at GDC and the title impressed us with a lot of character and pick-up-and-play mechanics, but Funcom have released the first look at Medieval World and the enemies to break apart in that fantasy setting.
LEGO Minifigures Online will feature a number of different environments but I'm much more excited by the cross-platform multiplayer that allows Android and Apple tablet users to interact with each other in addition to players on PC. This will make it even easier for parents to play LEGO Minifigures Online with their kids, even though the focus outside of the game will be on collecting the individual Minifigures packaged and sold at retail.
Still, it's awesome to hear that you don't need to spend a single cent on LEGO Minifigures Online if you don't want to. You'll be able to unlock all the characters just by playing the game. And yes, that includes the fairy characters!
Check out our hands-on preview from GDC for more on the game.
