Microsoft Now Rolling Out Xbox One June Update

Microsoft has just announced that June's system update for Xbox One will begin rolling out for users today.

In case you haven't been keeping up with all the news regarding the console's changes, the update brings with it external storage support, as well as the ability to use real names on Xbox Live. On top of that, gamers will no longer need and Xbox Live Gold subscription to enjoy entertainment apps like Netflix and Hulu. Huzzah!

Those, however, who still have a Gold subscription to Microsoft's online gaming service will now be able to enjoy the benefits of free games, thanks to Xbox Live Games With Gold for Xbox One. If you've got a hankering for some Halo: Spartan Assault, you can grab it for free this month. It's not the greatest game in the world, but it's better than nothing, right?

"The Xbox team has been hard at work on delivering the new capabilities we recently announced for fans, including highly anticipated Xbox One features like external storage, the ability to use your real name on Xbox Live, and improved SmartGlass integration," Xbox Live's Major Nelson said on his blog.

"Both the Xbox One and Xbox 360 system updates will begin rolling out globally this week, giving fans more ways than ever to enjoy the best in gaming and entertainment with Xbox."
