Rare Has Microsoft’s Full Support, Exciting Projects in the Works

Rare, the Microsoft-owned studio behind classic platformers like Banjo-Kazooie and more recent casual games like Kinect Sports, isn't getting the cold shoulder from the Big M.

According to Microsoft's Phil Harrison, Rare isn't being neglected, as it has the company's full support. "I'm very happy to go on record to alleviate any of those concerns you might have," he told Eurogamer. "We are very fortunate in having Rare and Lionhead in the UK as crown jewels of Microsoft Studios.

"Rare is working on a couple of things at the moment, which we will announce at the right time. But I'm really excited by the things they're doing and I believe you will be as well when you hear about them. Rare is an incredible talent and they have some very very ambitious plans for the future and we're supporting them in every way we can."

What would you like to see come out of Rare next? A new Banjo title seems to be the most popular choice, though I'm sure there are plenty of you out there that would love a new Jet Force Gemini or Perfect Dark as well.
