It looks like gamers may be able to play Nintendo games from the 64-bit era on their GamePads in the near future—that is, if an update from Nintendo is any indication.
On the company's webpage for Virtual Console, the Big N highlights both the impending releases of Game Boy Advance and Nintendo 64 titles for the platform. "Check back regularly for the latest releases, including the future addition of titles from the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo 64 systems," the page teases.
We've known for quite some time that Nintendo 64 games would eventually be coming to the Wii U Virtual Console (complete with off-TV GamePad support), but it has been an incredibly long wait.
Right now, Wii U owners can enjoy original Nintendo, SNES, and select GBA titles, with the promise of N64 and DS support coming down the line. Hopefully we don't have much longer to wait!
