Blizzard Loses Its Chief Creative Officer

Rob Pardo, the chief creative officer over at Blizzard Entertainment, has announced that he is parting ways with the beloved PC developer.

In a post on Battle.net, Pardo explained that it's time for him to move on, after having been with the company for a whopping 17 years. "With long and careful contemplation, I have made a difficult and bittersweet but ultimately exciting decision to pursue the next chapter in my life and career," he said.

With regard to what's next for the talented game designer, Pardo was relatively tight-lipped. "As to what I will be doing next, I don’t have an answer for you yet… but I will 'when it’s ready.' My priorities are to enjoy the summer with my family, play plenty of games, and think about what’s next."

Warlords of Draenor, the next expansion for World of Warcraft, a game Mr. Pardo was heavily involved in, launches this fall. You can read our preview of the upcoming add-on right here.
