The NPD results for June are in and, to no one's surprise, Sony's current-gen console once again leads the pack on the hardware front. That's right, PlayStation 4 has now been the top-selling console in the U.S. for six straight months.
With regard to software, Ubisoft's open-world Chicago-bound action game, Watch Dogs, came in at number one, with the PlayStation 4 version being the favorite among consumers. In fact, PS4 was the leader when it came to overall "next-gen" game sales as well. I guess that's what happens when you've got more units in gamers' homes than the competition.
As fall draws closer with each passing day, bringing with it a slew of exciting releases, it will be interesting to see how the console war shakes out in the latter half of 2014. Anyone think Microsoft and Xbox One will be able to magically pull ahead?
