Nintendo revealed the online co-operative mode in the upcoming Bayonetta 2 by Platinum Games called "Tag Climax" at E3 last year, and we finally have more information as revealed by Famitsu (by way of Siliconera) on how it will work.
First off, Tag Climax looks to be a mode that you'll likely experience after one playthrough of the main game, since equipment and skills players unlock in the story campaign will carry over. In online quick matches, if you are matched with other players online instead of an AI partner, you can bet Halos on you scoring more than that player (just another reason you'll want to carry over).
The Halos can be used to purchase more accessories, alternate weapons, and techniques, which can be selected before entering a match, where you'll fight a horde of enemies and bosses. So long as you have the Verse Card of a stage, you can select that stage in Tag Climax. But beware: Selecting a stage requires Halos, with the more difficult ones costing more, but will return more Halos if they're completed. So you better be confident with your skills and equipment before tackling a specific Verse Card.
Bayonetta 2 will release in October 2014 exclusively for Wii U.
