[Update] Karl Slatoff, the president of Take-Two, explained why the title was delayed, saying that the publisher "primarily decided the title deserves and should have more time to be polished so it can reach its absolute optimal state before we release it."
He also noted that February will be a "pretty terrific" time to launch the title, as "it's not at all crowded, and we will benefit from the fact that there are a lot of holiday sales of consoles. The install base will be bigger."
[Original] Turtle Rock Studios' upcoming multiplayer shooter won't be out this year, as Take-Two has pushed the release of Evolve to February 10, 2015.
The delay was announced during the company's quarterly earnings briefing, but no specific reason was provided as to why the title has been pushed.
Evolve is a five-player first-person shooter in which four players team up against a powerful monster controlled by the fifth player. We've really enjoyed what we've played of the game thus far, so here's to hoping the few extra months of development time really make this one shine.
