Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition Outed by Amazon [Update: Square Enix Confirms]

[Update] Square Enix has confirmed that Sleeping Dogs is getting released on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 in a new-and-improved version, dubbed Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition

"We’re giving old and new fans a lot reasons to pick up the game, as we’ve gone beyond just increasing resolution and running at 1080p," the game's senior producer, Dan Sochan said. "We listened to the fans: we tuned gameplay, we added to the ambience of Hong Kong, increased audio fidelity and pushed the visuals further than we could on the previous generation of consoles."

Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition will be out this October and will come packed with a whole bunch of DLC, not the least of which includes the story-based "Year of the Snake" add-on.

The listing on Amazon has revealed that Sleeping Dogs will be receiving the Definitive Edition treatment by Square Enix, similar to Tomb Raider's own Definitive Edition, for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. This next-gen reskin will be available on October 14, 2014 and cost full price at $59.99.

Apart from the new words "Definitive Edition" emblazoned along the front, this version will receive all previously released DLCs (valued at $85). Pre-ordering the Limited Edition will include a 28-page artbook featuring concept art and visual direction shots.

I purchased the Sleeping Dogs Collection during the Steam Summer Sale for only $7.99, but for some reason, it's been freezing a bit on my desktop. We'll have to see, literally, how much better the Definitive Edition looks on next-gen platforms for a recommendation.
