Square Enix has announced Dive In, a streaming service for mobile devices that will bring some of the publisher's most popular games to smartphones and tablets.
The service is currently only confirmed for release in Japan, but I'm holding out hope for a North American release. Why? Well, because among the list of supported titles Square plans to release, we've got Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy XIII, and other noteworthy JRPGs.
Each game comes with a 30-minute trial, but to play any further you'll need to shell out some dough. Here's the planned pricing scheme for the first three titles coming to the service in Japan:
Final Fantasy XIII
- Three Days – 250 yen
- 10 Days – 510 yen
- 30 Days – 1,250 yen
- One Year – 1,800 yen
Final Fantasy VII International
- Three Days – 200 yen
- 10 Days – 400 yen
- 30 Days – 1,000 yen
- One Year – 1,429 yen
Season of Mystery: The Cherry Blossom Murders
- Three Days – 150 yen
- 10 Days – 300 yen
- 30 Days – 800 yen
- One Year – 1,185 yen
Other titles, including Final Fantasy VIII and The Last Remnant will arrive in November, followed by Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Murdered: Soul Suspect in December. Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will hit Dive In next year.
