Pokémon Sleep Available Now in Europe

Pokémon Sleep Available Now in Europe, Other Territories to Follow

Select Button and Niantic have announced that a new Pokémon game, Pokémon Sleep, is out now in Europe (and it will be out in other territories later this week). However, this isn’t a traditional RPG, as it, as the title implies, is something that players “play” when their eyes are closed.

What is Pokémon Sleep about?

This unique title allows players to catch different Pokémon depending on their quality of sleep. Similar to other sleep-tracking apps, Pokémon Sleep asks users to keep their phone charged and near them on the bed. Pokémon Sleep will track how much players sleep, and will be given a “sleep score.”

A good “sleep score” will allow for more Pokémon to appear in the game, with special Pokémon appearing under different criteria. For example, players who put their phone face down while sleeping will be able to catch special Pokémon that are facing down.

For those who might be wary of putting their phone on the bed, an accessory called the Pokémon Go Plus+ is also available for $49.99, and will track players’ movements as they snooze, as well as other data that is transferred to the Pokémon Sleep app.

Pokémon Sleep originally released on July 17, 2023 in a handful of territories like Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and parts of Latin America. It was released in some section of Asia on July 19 and is launching in Japan on July 20. Currently, no United States release date has been nailed down, so some players will have to wait a little bit longer to capture Pokémon in their dreams.
