The new games coming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate during the second wave throughout the end of August 2023 have been announced. These include the day-one release of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Everspace 2, and Sea of Stars, as well as the return of a game that has previously been on the service.

The second wave of Xbox Game Pass games for this month begins today on August 15 when Everspace 2 joins the service on console and Xbox cloud gaming. This already follows the surprise release of Quake 2 remaster on Game Pass at the end of last week.
The remaining four games — which include The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Sea of Stars — will arrive on different platforms throughout the first part of the month. The list includes:
- Firewatch (Console, PC, and Cloud) – August 17
- The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (Console, PC, and Cloud) – August 18
- Sea of Stars (Console, PC, and Cloud) – August 29
- Gris (Console, PC, and Cloud) – September 5
As well as the new additions, Xbox Game Pass members can now try out a 10-hour Madden NFL 24 trial through EA Play. As a Game Pass Ultimate Perk, the EA Play MUT Welcome Pack is also available to claim from today, and it will add new players to the Ultimate Team collection.
Other Xbox Game Pass Ultimate perks include the Overwatch 2 New Heroes Starter Pack that gives instant access to Sojourn, Junker Queen, Kiriko, Ramattra, Lifeweaver, and new Season 6 hero Illari, as well as a Legendary skin and other cosmetics for each of them. On August 17, players can also grab the Fallout 76 Lunchtime Bundle which includes Perk Packs, Repair Kits, Carry Weight Boosters, Lunchboxes, and Scout’s Banners.
In addition to those perks, Microsoft is offering an exclusive Xbox Game Pass offer for those who want to upgrade their Starfield standard edition. The Starfield Premium Edition Upgrade is available at a 10% discount and means players will be able to access the game on September 1.
Finally, there is also a handful of games leaving Xbox Game Pass on August 31. These are Black Desert, Commandos 3 HD Remaster, Immortality, Nuclear Throne, Surgeon Simulator 2, and Tinykin, all of which will be removed for console, PC, and cloud.
