In August, the cat-based adventure game Stray was released on Xbox, and now the title is due to be getting a physical release before the end of this year.
Plus, a permanent price drop
According to a report from PureXbox, publisher Annapurna Interactive and collectibles specialist iam8bit have announced that Stray will be available in physical form for Xbox Series X soon.
On top of that, it looks as though the game will be getting reduced in price, going down to £24.99 or around $30 US.
The report goes on to say that pre-orders will begin on October 3, with the actual release slated for Q4 2023. For those who have an Xbox One, while the disc will be available on Series X, the previous-gen console should also be able to get it through Smart Delivery.
This is the most we’ve heard from Stray in a while. Recently, it was also announced that the game was being adapted into an animated film. The project is allegedly being helmed by the director of the first Ice Age movie.
Currently, the iam8bit website only shows that the PS5 and PS4 versions of Stray are available in physical form. No doubt this will be updated once the Xbox port starts taking pre-orders. You might also want to keep an eye on social media for updates.
Originally released in July 2022, Stray was a PlayStation console exclusive for just over a year before it became available on the Microsoft platform.
The game was met with high praise, with it currently showing a Metacritic score of 82 on PC and 83 on both PS5 and Xbox Series. Stray has yet to receive a port on Switch, but now it’s back in the limelight, hopes may rise that it will make its way to Nintendo‘s hybrid system.
