RoboCop: Rogue City Demo Now Available on Steam

RoboCop: Rogue City is the upcoming FPS that puts you in the metallic shoes of the titular cyborg law enforcement officer. If you’re looking forward to this game, especially on PC, you’ll be pleased to know the Steam demo is now out.

Still on track for a November release

Developed by Terminator: Resistance studio Teyon, Rogue City is said to be the first RoboCop console game since 2003. A post from the inbound game’s Twitter/X profile says the demo will feature the first three levels.

As for when the title is going to be released fully, it’s currently scheduled to launch on November 2, 2023. It was originally intended to come out in June but was pushed back a couple of times.

Rogue City takes place between the second and third RoboCop films. You play as the part man, part machine Alex Murphy, in which an “investigation leads you right into the heart of a shadowy project.” Peter Weller reprises his role as the justice-seeking protagonist.

According to the developers, the game will feature a morality system, which gives the player choices based on RoboCop’s three directives.

A few weeks back, some exclusive gameplay footage from Rogue City began doing the rounds. In the video, we are treated to the gun-based action inherent in Detroit City as the player mows down wave after wave of enemies.

Given that we’re in October now, it’s only a few weeks until the game finally releases, having been announced in the summer of 2021. For now, you can at least download the demo on Steam.

RoboCop: Rogue City is available to pre-order on all platforms. The game will also be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, though there doesn’t appear to be a console demo as of yet.
