Sony UK: Driveclub Issues a Disappointment

The road to DRIVECLUB's release could have used some paving, and top-ranking officials at Sony are acknowledging the bumps.

In a recent interview with IGN, PlayStation UK head Fergal Gara said the technical problems that have plagued DRIVECLUB since its late October launch are a “disappointment.”

“When you lay your soul out as being '4ThePlayers,' then what you certainly don't want is games that are not fully ready,” said Gara. “It certainly wasn't any ill-intention on behalf of the team. It's ambitious as a game; they're as embarrassed as we are and all you can do in those situations is say sorry.”

Gara assured that Sony is “doing our damnedest to make things right,” but admitted that the PlayStation Plus version, though the clear “next step,” still has a way to go before release.

“We don't want to introduce the PS Plus Edition until we're confident the servers can take the load,” Gara explained. “We want confidence in the capacity and concurrency figures.”
