10 Things You Need To Know About World of Final Fantasy
There are 2 main characters
Say hello to Lann and Reynn. Although you can tinker with the rest of your party (Mirages), these two characters will be at the front of the story and gameplay experience. Here is a description of both characters: rn rnLann: To a casual observer, Lann may appear brash and impulsive. In addition, it typically takes a few explanations before he gets a full grasp of any given situation. A deeper look, however, reveals a boy pure of heart and spirit, who is great at taking advantage of opportunities when they arise—in other words, the perfect adventurer. rn rnReynn: Reynn is a girl of patience and perception, and there will be several times during the Grymoirian journey that all would be lost if not for her. Don't think she doesn't have vices, though. She's quick with the snark, and when she gets shaken up, she starts spouting trivia as a coping mechanism, to the point where even Lann knows what's up. Even so, there's no doubting that she's the glue that holds the adventure together.
No, there are no airship in the traditional sense
This is a question brought up time and time again when a new Final Fantasy comes out. You will not be piloting an airship in this game. Sorry.
It\'s tailored for the younger generation
The presentation is very cutesy and family friendly. This is not a violent game, and there are no curse words. It is most comparable to Kingdom Hearts , which isn't necessarily a kids game, but is aimed for younger people. You will not find an epic, mature narrative here, that's for sure. And to many people that's okay.
There isn\'t much nostalgia
While you will encounter major characters and areas from previous Final Fantasy games, for one reason or another this game doesn't feel nostalgic. Part of that might be because of the art style, or maybe it's the way the dialog is presented. Whatever the case, you are unlikely to get nostalgia chills when playing it.
It\'s kind of like Pokemon
You spend a great deal of time in this game catching creatures, which are called Mirages, and employing them. They all have strengths and weaknesses, and you'll want to catch them all. Sound familiar? rn rnThat said, the battle system isn't really like Pokemon, so it's not necessarily an imitation as much as it scratches a similar itch.
You don\'t have to play in Chibi form
While playing you'll be able to toggle between regular and Chibi form at any time. Most cutscenes will represent whichever you prefer, although some enforce one of the two styles. rn rnThis is a point that is important to note as many Final Fantasy fans have been upset that the game has a Chibi artstyle. That's only partially true.
It starts easy, but won\'t stay that way
Most similar to Final Fantasy XIII , this game has a long tutorial sequence that is almost impossible to fail. It isn't until about 10 hours in that there's any real sense of challenge, and eventually it becomes very difficult.
May Tama guide you
Tama is a cute, rabbit-like creature who follows you around wherever you go. She can even be employed in combat. She will provide instruction and dialog throughout the game, so you can sort of count her as a third main character.
It\'s very linear
The world design is most like Final Fantasy XIII in that the areas you explore are very narrow in structure, with some off-beaten paths that lead to treasure. The one area where it beats Final Fantasy XIII is in puzzle design. There are quite a few puzzles, and they are entertaining. rn rnThere is a main city hub and a way to teleport to various locations around the world. One again, very much like Final Fantasy XIII .
There are many Final Fantasy characters represented
Sephiroth is just one of many characters who make an appearance. They look a bit silly due to the art style, but at least they are here.
