Black Ops 4 is out, with Call of Duty fans now getting to play the latest entry in the blockbuster FPS franchise. For multiplayer fans, BO4 has a little bit of everything; its traditional multiplayer comes with all the bells ‘n’ whistles, Blackout brings Battle Royale to the core series for the first time ever, and Zombies is as expansive as it ever has been. Developer Treyarch may have dropped a single-player campaign from this year’s offering, but enough has been put into its online modes to make it worth CoD veterans’ attention.
However, sales news for the game has been a mixed bag. While Activision has posted the highest digital sales in the game’s history, with it breaking records on the Xbox and PlayStation Store, its physical sales have dropped by 50 percent in the UK. There’s no word on if this trend has been reflected globally, though in one region at least, it looks like interest in Call of Duty may have declined significantly.
But are you among those who are experiencing “CoD fatigue?” Did you bother picking up Black Ops 4 this past week? Or are you saving your hard-earned cash for another game?
