Most of Fortnite‘s rarest skins come from its seasonal Battle Pass. Every three months, a new With Fortnite‘s massive success, we’ve seen plenty of games adopt this style of skin and loot drops. You can buy a pass in releases like Black Ops 4 and Paladins, each coming with their own rare skin drops and other game-specific doodads. Current new hotness Apex Legends will also be getting a Battle Pass in March, and it will be interesting to see how this game learns from what Fortnite‘s done.
Also, with all the exclusive skins and a year’s worth of backlog, it will be interesting to see where Epic Games takes Fortnite‘s skin drops going forward. Is the Battle Pass the only way people should get seasonal skins? Will the studio tie skin drops in with their new Epic Games Store, just like Valve back in the Team Fortress 2 days?
