The debut of Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Luna in the upcoming summer update Wave 2 is a welcome addition to the game, especially from longtime fans. Her arrival will fix a longstanding problem with the game: visitors trashing your island, whether accidentally or on purpose.
Many players are new to Animal Crossing with this latest entry in the franchise, so they might not know that Luna has been around for a while. She made her debut all the way back in Animal Crossing: New Leaf for the Nintendo 3DS, the previous core entry in the franchise. Now, she’s coming to New Horizons and solving one of the biggest problems with the game.

I do a lot of trading in the game and there’s one issue I’ve always been concerned about: someone causing damage to my island or me causing damage to someone else’s.
Potential damage can be prevented with careful planning. Don’t drop items near flowers; people might accidentally pluck a flower instead of picking up an item. Protect any valuable items with a fence. Keep an eye on your visitors, lest they cause any damage.
Even with these precautions, accidents happen. I myself have accidentally plucked a flower and felt awful about it. I’ve thankfully never had to deal with any serious trolls and the game does a fine job of protecting most of your island with Friend and Best Friend permissions, but it’s an ongoing concern. (Thankfully, it’s very easy to kick people off of your island if you have to.) The addition of Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Luna solves all of that.
Suite Dreams
The addition of the Dream Suite makes showing off your island super simple. We don’t have all of the details just yet, but we can make a reasonable guess based on how the game works today and how the Dream Suite feature worked in the past.
Simply put, players can upload their island to the Internet and get a code. Then, anyone who goes to bed with an active Nintendo Switch Online membership can visit either a random island or a specific island by entering a code. If you’re keen on showing off your islands to others, you can just give them that code instead of having them over and running the risk of potential damage.
Many desirable features and past NPCs are still missing, but the return of Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ pick up a Nintendo Switch Online membership nowLuna is a step in the right direction.
