The Book of Boba Fett Disney Plus release date has been confirmed, along with many story details, in the first trailer for the new Star Wars series that spins off from the end of The Mandalorian. The first The Book of Boba Fett trailer reveals what the story is actually going to be, a few notable characters, and some interesting expansions to Star Wars lore. Head below for the full trailer, details, and any The Book of Boba Fett Easter eggs spotted in the trailer.
Everything revealed in The Book of Boba Fett trailer
The Book of Boba Fett trailer is out now and features numerous teases for the show, as well as a few Easter eggs. It confirms what was suspected following the teaser at the end of The Mandalorian’s finale — that Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennic Shand (Ming-Na Wen) are attempting to take over Jabba the Hutt’s place in the criminal underworld.
This sees them going up against the other criminals of Tatooine, which includes Trandoshans, Aqualish, and Ithorians. Twi-leks also return. It’s unclear who the shield-wielding enemies were at the end, but going by their red clothing it’s possible they could be part of the Crimson Dawn syndicate — as introduced in Solo. They were secretly being run by Darth Maul, but since Maul died in Star Wars Rebels (on Tatooine, no less), they’ve been run by Qi’ra (Emilia Clarke) — who got a comic series announced just today, coincidentally.
Easter eggs include the opening with a spider-like B’omarr Monk (above), which made a brief background appearance in Jabba’s Palace during Return of the Jedi but got expanded upon in various pieces of Star Wars lore. It also shows an actual city on Tatooine — the biggest places on the planet fans have seen so far have been Mos Eisley and Espa spaceports. The ending also makes reference to the Rancor under Jabba’s Palace, which Luke Skywalker killed. Other than that fans will find out more as The Book of Boba Fett’s release date approaches.
