January 2013: Buy, Try, Die

I'm surprised there aren't more games releasing in January given the amount of delays we had last year, but I think the Steam sale likely did a number on our collective wallets. I nabbed around five games, for less than $10 a pop… it was more the Christmas shopping and holiday regret that destroyed me.

This month, Don't Starve will make its debut on the PS4, free for PS Plus subscribers. This little indie survival game has been something I've wanted to play for months now, and now that it's available for free, I won't have an excuse anymore.

Tomb Raider caps the month with two versions, the Game of the Year version for Xbox 360 and PS3 and the Definitive version for Xbox One and PS4. Out of the main action adventure titles last year, this is one I missed. So yet again… I will have no excuse. Now it's a matter of whether I'll get it for Xbox One or PS4 (thus establishing my policy for multiplatform games).
