Console War Tracker: Six Months With PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, And PC

Sony and Microsoft each launched their next-generation video game consoles last November. It’s almost been a full six months since PlayStation 4 and Xbox One hardware hit store shelves and millions of homes both here in America and worldwide. Obviously, there are still some territories that haven’t yet gotten the chance to take a shiny new console home, but they aren’t far behind.

Of course, Wii U and PC fans have been playing their next-gen machines for quite a lot longer than PS4 and Xbox One gamers, but we’re all in the same boat here. The industry has opened a new chapter of gaming and it’s time to stack up each of the platforms you have to choose from.

For this edition of Console War Tracker, we’re going to look at hardware performance first and foremost. We want to establish a baseline of functionality out of the box before we move on to software. The games you play on each of these machines are critical too, so we’ll look at the current blockbuster software lineup and how each title has scored with GameRevolution reviewers. Finally, we’ll look at what’s coming next for each platform to break ties and determine a winner.
