Logitech G335 Review: ‘A headset made to stand out’

LOGITECH G335 REVIEW.

When it comes to more budget headsets, Logitech has a lot going on. When filtering through the headsets on the Logitech website, it can be tough to tell the many headsets and their features apart from one another. The numbered naming system doesn’t help, either. Thankfully, the Logitech G335 headset has a unique quality that makes it stand out from the pack: over-the-top vibrant colors.

Full of color

Once it’s out of the box, the first thing I noticed was the color. The blue of the white and blue model is very vibrant and looks great as part of my blue-themed setup. There’s an even wilder color in the form of the mint version, as well as a more subtle black version.

Buy the Logitech G335 headset on Amazon.com.

The headbands are where the colors go into overdrive, with a multicolored weave that makes even the black version stand out. It’s an interesting and unique look that is guaranteed to draw the eye.

Losing weight

Logitech G335 Review

At only 240 grams, the G335 is relatively lightweight. The plastic construction certainly helps with that. Some may balk at the lighter weight and plastic build, but it still feels solid in the hand and on the head.

As seen with the G435 I reviewed recently, Logitech is slowly pushing the message that gaming headsets can be both lightweight and high-quality.

Tried and true

Logitech G335 Review

When it comes to connecting the G335 to a PC or console, it’s all done using the 3.5 mm cable. The 4-pole connection receives the sound signal while sending microphone audio, making the whole process very simple. It might be an aging connection, but it’s still flawless for those who aren’t yet ready to go wireless. Sadly, the G335’s cable is not detachable and so can’t be easily replaced or swapped out for something longer.

The sound quality of the G335 is clearly tailored towards gaming. While bass is there, it takes a backseat to the mids and highs. In games like Call of Duty: Warzone and Apex Legends, explosions could be heard but they weren’t overwhelming. Footstep and reload sounds, on the other hand, cut through with the kind of clarity that I love in a gaming headset. The G335 is in a good place sonically.

Looking at the microphone next, it’s very solid. Like with many other wired gaming headsets, the mic quality is fine for Discord and chatting in-game, but I wouldn’t depend on it for content creation. It’s also more treble-heavy, which makes the user’s voice clearer. It’s great to also see the lift to mute function.

Easy to use and wear

Logitech G335 Review

As there’s no mute button or voice/game adjustment, the G335 has but a single dial on the earcup. This controls the master volume. It’s plastic, but feels substantial and demands more force than you might expect. This is good as it helps prevent accidental changes.

After using the G335 for some marathon Far Cry 6 review sessions, I can give two thumbs up for the comfort. Much like the (even lighter) G435, the G335 practically floats on my head. The earpads are soft and breathable which led to very little build-up of heat.

Logitech G335 Review: The final verdict

Logitech G335 Review

At $69.99, the Logitech G335 is in a weird spot right now. At the time of writing, the wireless G435 headset has just launched at $79.99, offering wireless functionality at just $10 more. With that said, the G335’s better microphone quality and even more ostentatious designs may be worth it to some.

Overall, the G335 is lightweight, great-sounding, and bold in its design. If that resonates with you and the wired connection doesn’t put you off, this is a solid option for under $70.
