Code Vein Release Date for PS4, Xbox One, and PC Revealed

The Code Vein release date has been revealed, with the launch of the PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions of the game finally being announced by Bandai Namco. Releasing on September 28, the reveal coincided with the release of a new English-language trailer, showing off gameplay that has more than a hint of a Dark Souls vibe to it.

Code Vein looks set to borrow heavily from the formula established by From Software and its Souls series, albeit with an anime twist. It’s one of the most highly-anticipated Bandai Namco games on the horizon, and those into the Souls games may be into its twist on the Souls-like format.

Much like Dark Souls, online cooperative play is available and will allow you to summon other players to help you out. The trailer also offered a look at its collector’s edition, which will include a Mia Karnstein figurine, collector’s box, digital soundtrack, digital artbook, and an in-game customization set along with a full copy of the game.

Bandai also publishes the Souls series, with a new From Software game having also been teased. Many have suspected that the game will be featured during E3 2018, though no confirmation has been given by Bandai or From Software. It’s currently unclear if it will be another Dark Souls sequel, Bloodborne 2, or a completely new From Software property.

While this news will certainly be more exciting for Souls fans, Code Vein does appear to be an interesting deviation from the formula, with it being developed internally by Bandai. It remains to be seen if the studio can live up to its more famous published property, but many will be more than willing to give Code Vein a fair shake upon its release towards the end of the year.
