Super Mario Odyssey will introduce a photo mode, allowing players to take snapshots of Mario and co. at any point throughout the game, including (but not limited to) when he’s running around topless on a beach.
Photo mode has become a popular addition to modern games, allowing players to zoom in on the action and share images with their friends. Super Mario Odyssey will be no different, with Switch owners able to upload their photos to social media and save them to their library.
The photo mode also allows players to add a variety of filters to their photos, along with rotating them and transforming them into fun wallpapers or backgrounds for their desktops or mobile phones.

Super Mario Odyssey wrapped up today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, which featured little in the way of new announcements in favor of elaborating upon both the Switch’s and 3DS’ upcoming releases. The photo mode was arguably the biggest new announcement to be taken from Super Mario Odyssey’s showing during the presentation, with the game now having been shown multiple times by Nintendo, including an extensive gameplay demo at E3 2017.
Super Mario Odyssey is set to launch on October 27, 2017, so players won’t have to wait long until they can start taking photos of Mario splashing around on the beach in his shorts. Put some clothes on, Mario: you’re embarrassing us.
