A brand new Spider-Man PS4 gameplay trailer has just landed, showing off footage of our Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man swinging into action across Manhattan, pulling off dazzling acrobatics with the extensive moveset Insomniac Games has equipped him with. As noted in this trailer, this isn’t a 15-year-old Spider-Man getting used to his powers, but rather a more experienced superhero who is going to be able to take full advantage of his abilities.
The superhero game, which will be releasing exclusively on the PS4, is the cover story for this month’s issue of GameInformer magazine, and the outlet has supplied a brand new gameplay trailer in order to drum up anticipation for the feature. In the new footage, we see Spider-Man free-roaming around the game’s large environment, running up walls and sailing from building to building in fluid motions.
“He has the ability to juggle between webs, melee, and gadgets, and switch between them pretty quickly,” an Insomniac dev explains in the gameplay trailer, with the company wanting to recreate the feeling of actually being Spider-Man in its game, offering a great sense of speed and placing an emphasis on his movement.
For those who are hoping that Spider-Man PS4 will be to the web-slinger what the Arkham series was to Batman, it certainly seems like it’s shaping up that way. GameInformer has stated that it will be rolling out a variety of online features over the next month, though there’s still no word on a release date for the highly anticipated game.
