League of Legends Pro Doublelift’s Brother Allegedly Murders Mother in Knife Attack

Professional League of Legends player Doublelift’s brother has allegedly murdered their mother and injured their father in a knife attack. The 30-year-old brother of the Team Liquid pro has now been arrested by the Orange County police, with the Sheriff’s Department stating that he has now been charged with murder.

DoubleLift, who is one of the most well-known League of Legends players in the world and has become known for his role as an AD Carry, posted the following message to Twitlonger:

“This weekend I received some terrible news. My older brother attacked both of my parents with a knife. As a result of this attack, my mom passed away and my dad was seriously hurt and is now recovering in hospital.

I’m still processing this news and joining up with my dad and little brother to make sure they’re ok and the proper arrangements are being made. I’ll likely be quiet on social media while I work through this. I hope you all understand and support me as you always have in the past.”

According to the Sheriff’s Department, police arrived at the family home of Doublelift, real name Yiliang Peng, at 10:30pm on Friday evening. Wei Ping Shen, his 59-year-old mother, had suffered a fatal stab wound, while his father, Guojon Peng, was taken to a nearby hospital in a critical condition.

Yihong Peng attempted to flee the scene of the crime after police had arrived, though was detained after a short pursuit and taken into custody. A knife was recovered at the scene, though police are still investigating the motive behind the incident.

Doublelift, 24, was set to appear alongside Team Liquid in the upcoming League of Legends NA LCS finals next weekend in Miami.
