Steam Greenlight Unveils “Concepts” (Half-Life 3 Spam Incoming)

In a compromise between the previously open system of Steam Greenlight and the now $100 barrier of entry for developers to post games on Steam Greenlight, Valve has unveiled the new "Concepts" hub. Developers can now pitch their ideas to the community without needing to pay any fee and gain valuable feedback on their proof of concept, so to speak. The Concepts description reads as follows:

This section is intended for items looking to gather feedback from the potential customers and begin building a community. If you like projects here, feel free to rate them, favorite them, and leave feedback for the developer. The voting here serves only to give the developer data and reactions and doesn't work toward getting the game distributed on Steam.

Only a handful of Concepts are currently on Greenlight, and I'm sure that Valve will be monitoring any Concepts submissions closely, if just to contain all the Half-Life 3, Half-Life 2: Episode 3, and Left 4 Dead 3 spam I'm sure they're going to receive no matter what they do. Gabe Newell Strip Poker notwithstanding…
