Resident Evil 2 Remake is getting a demo just in time for the game’s release later this month. The Resident Evil 2 Remake demo is a limited time offering but features an exclusive trailer for those who complete it.
The new “1-Shot Demo” is going to be available from January 11-31 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The demo will only be playable for 30 minutes and puts players in the boots of Leon Kennedy. Players who complete the demo in under 30 minutes will be able to restart it and play until they’ve used up the half hour. Players who fail and succumb to the zombies will be able to try again, but only up to the 30-minute time limit.
The Resident Evil 2 Remake demo follows Leon as he arrives at the Raccoon City Police Station. He must survive the zombie hordes while finding a way out of the station. The demo’s 30-minute time limit has some fans frustrated, but others are just glad it’s on all three platforms.
Resident Evil 2 Remake is exactly what it sounds like: a full reimagining of the 1998 classic. Built using Capcom’s “RE Engine” which powered Resident Evil 7, the RE2 remake camera moves to the over-the-shoulder perspective of Resident Evil 4. The original game was a massive improvement on its predecessor with a more cinematic presentation and storyline. Players controlled Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they attempted to survive the zombie-infested Raccoon City.
The RE2 remake was announced in August 2015, but no footage was shown until E3 2018. Capcom describes it as a “fresh take on the classic survival horror saga with breathtakingly realistic visuals, heart-poundingly immersive audio, a new over-the-shoulder camera, and modernized controls on top of the gameplay modes from the original game.”
Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 Remake will release on January 25, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. We’re very excited about it.
