Borderlands 2 Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary DLC spotted on Steam

New Borderlands 2 Commander Lilith DLC spotted on Steam

It seems that Gearbox wants to give players a reason to return to Borderlands 2 before its sequel hits. A new DLC pack called Borderlands 2 Commander Lilith and The Fight for Sanctuary appeared on Steam before getting pulled.

While the Steam store page for Commander Lilith and The Fight for Sanctuary has since been pulled, posters over at Resetera were able to compile details and screenshots of the DLC pack. The details include the store description for the new DLC pack.

“Return to the award winning shooter-looter for a new adventure that sets the stage for the upcoming Borderlands 3,” states the description. “Sanctuary is under siege, the Vault’s map has been stolen and a toxic gas is poisoning Pandora.”

With Borderlands 3 coming out this September, it seems that Commander Lilith and The Fight for Sanctuary‘s plot will tie in to that game. The stolen map will likely point to the other vaults players will be visiting in the new game.

The new DLC pack gives players new zones to explore and new bosses to fight. Of course, being a Borderlands game, it will also give them new loot. In fact, it seems that the DLC pack will add a new tier of loot beyond Legendary for players to grind.

To further entice veteran players, the DLC pack will raise the game’s level cap to 80. Meanwhile, newcomers will be able to automatically boost their character to level 30.

In addition to all this, SteamDB was able to get some data from the page and find the DLC pack’s release date. Commander Lilith and The Fight for Sanctuary will supposedly be available for purchase on June 9. With this in mind, it’s likely that the store page will be put back up soon alongside an official announcement.

Gearbox is going all in with its promotion of Borderlands 3. In addition to the new DLC pack, the studio heavily discounted Borderlands: the Handsome Collection on Steam in addition to making it one of the free PS Plus games for June.
