Figuring out how to download Teamfight Tactics is not as straightforward as you’d think. It’s not as easy as just loading the Riot Games website and clicking install. Instead, Riot Games has combined Teamfight Tactics with League of Legends, which means you’ll have to jump through some hoops to find the TFT download.
How to download Teamfight Tactics
To download Teamfight Tactics, you’ll first need to make a League of Legends account on the official website. After that, you can download the client. Once it’s installed, you can launch the client and log in. At the top, you’ll see a tab that says Teamfight Tactics. If you click it, you can queue up for a match of Teamfight Tactics and get in the game.
Right now, TFT is in beta, so you can expect some glitches. The queue times also seem to be a bit long. Given that the game appears popular, long queue times might be a symptom of the beta and may improve once it gets a full launch.
It’s not known yet whether Teamfight Tactics will remain attached to League of Legends or if Riot Games will spin it off into its own thing. Seeing as Riot Games hasn’t published a second game yet, it might be good for them to give it a try.
As for the content available in Teamfight Tactics, there’s not a lot yet. However, there are six player icons that you can buy for 750 RP each. That’s around $6, which is a bit pricey considering the game is in beta. If you’re the kind of person that likes to spend money on unfinished products, there’ll be a Teamfight Tactics beta pass available soon as well. Presumably, this will work like Fortnite‘s battle pass where you can accomplish tasks to win a player icon or something like that.
