Mike Pondsmith, the Cyberpunk 2020 creator, revealed he will make an appearance in CD Projekt Red’s upcoming RPG video game, Cyberpunk 2077. However, exactly who or what the non-video game RPG creator will be is still unknown.
In an interview from the September 2019 issue of Official Xbox Magazine, Pondsmith said he had previously recorded for an unspecified role, but he wound up playing a different character instead. It seems he decided to unearth this information for the fans who are looking forward to a cameo.

“I have a role. I actually recorded for one role, but they came up with a different one for me, but I can’t tell you much more than that,” said Pondsmith. “And I’m telling you that because there are a lot of fans who are going, ‘He Better be in the game somewhere.’ So, I’m in the game.”
Pondsmith also joked about his cameo possibly being alongside Johnny Silverhand, the character Keanu Reeves is playing in Cyberpunk 2077. “I’m figuring what happens is, you know, at some point, [Johnny Silverhand] is playing his guitar and I’ll come out and play my bass [laughs],” he said.
While it would be pretty rad to see Keanu Reeves and the creator of Cyberpunk 2020 rockin’ out together, who Pondsmith will play in the game is still unknown. Unless this isn’t a joke, in which case he’ll play Keanu Reeve’s fellow bandmate.
There haven’t been too many details about Cyberpunk 2077‘s characters. However, details about its gameplay have been coming in steadily since being on Xbox’s E3 stage in 2018. This includes Cyberpunk 2077‘s progression system, character choices, and hardcore difficulty setting.
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently scheduled to launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 16, 2020. The collector’s edition for the game comes with a statue of the game’s protagonist V, a physical copy of the game, and some extra physical goodies for you to enjoy.
