Borderlands 3 Doom shotgun Easter egg | Speedloadn’ Hellwalker location

In a shooter series as chock-full of Easter eggs and references as Borderlands, it only makes sense that there’s a reference to the shooter that started it all: Doom. The Borderlands 3 Doom shotgun Easter egg comes with Doom’s signature heavy metal soundtrack attached. This guide will tell you everything about the Doom shotgun’s stats and how to get the Speedloadn’ Hellwalker shotgun.

Borderlands 3 | Doom shotgun location

borderlands 3 preview

Unlike the Rick and Morty shotgun and One Punch Man shotgun, the Doom Easter egg has no single drop location. Instead, it appears to be a part of Borderlands 3’s legendary weapon loot pool, seemingly a random world drop from one of many sources. Players have received the weapon from several bosses, including Captain Traunt and Graveward. Players have also received the weapon from locations such as Loot Tink enemies and the Vault Line slot machine.

Since the shotgun appears to be a random drop from bosses, your best chance of finding it may be to try your hand at Graveward boss farming, one of the game’s best methods of gaining legendary weapons.

Borderlands 3 Golden Keys

Perhaps the Borderlands 3 Doom shotgun’s hard-to-find nature makes it just that much more special when you eventually get your hands on one. And when you do, you’ll know right away, since picking it up plays a metal guitar riff — a motif continued throughout the rest of the weapon’s usage. Each time you fire the Speedloadn’ Hellwalker (a name that is itself a reference to the Doom Slayer’s hell-trotting escapades), it plays a short, metal-guitar music cue. Appropriately, the gun fires pellets in the shape of a pentagram. The shotgun’s appearance greatly resembles that of the Doom series’ double-barreled “super shotgun” weapon, with added orange, glowy bits and a glowing, smoking barrel. The Speedloadn’ Hellwalker’s flavor text reads, “So, my demons. Your time has come.”

Stat-wise, the Speedloadn’ Hellwalker can vary depending on your level and various other factors, but it appears to share some common perks across all drops:

  • +57% Weapon Damage
  • +10% Critical Hit Damage
  • +35% Reload Speed
  • Consumes 2 ammo per shot
  • Highly effective vs. Flesh.

Additionally, the shotgun always has a two-round magazine and deals fire elemental damage.
