For any eager PlayStation Trophy hunters out there, one of the first questions you’ll be asking yourself before playing The Last of Us 2 is “Are there any difficulty Trophies?” The need to play a game on its hardest difficulty, which is “Survivor” in The Last of Us Part 2’s case, often makes getting the Platinum Trophy much harder. Read on for the answer to “Are there The Last of Us 2 difficulty Trophies?”
Are there difficulty Trophies in The Last of Us 2?
No, there are not any difficulty Trophies in The Last of Us 2. This means that you can play on any difficulty and still get all Trophies in the game.

Of course, playing on Easy when you are a veteran of the first game, or a generally more capable gamer, may make The Last of Us 2 a little too simple to survive. Even if you’re going for the Platinum Trophy as a priority, selecting Normal or above may still be worth it for a more intense, and thus closer to what developer Naughty Dog intends, experience.
It’s totally up to you whether or not to play on Easy. Whatever you pick, the Platinum Trophy should still provide a challenge as it requires you to unlock every other Trophy in the game. Some of the Trophies, especially for collectibles, can be a real nightmare to earn.
As we saw with the original The Last of Us, a super-hard Grounded Mode is reportedly planned for after launch, alongside some permadeath (i.e. No respawns!) options. These will likely be added with their own Trophies, kept separate from the main Trophy list with no impact to the Platinum.
