When you get to the subway tunnels in The Last of Us 2, you’ll find a door locked with a code in one of the side rooms. This subway door is unlike any other you’ll encounter in the game, and requires a five-digit code to unlock. You’ll get a clue to what the combo to the door is nearby, but it’s very vague.
Below, we’ll show you where to find the clues needed to unlock the subway tunnel door in The Last of Us 2. If you’re stumped after that, we’ll also drop the door combo itself.
What’s the code for the subway tunnel door in The Last of Us 2?
After escaping the TV station in the Seattle – Day 1 section of The Last of Us 2, Ellie and Dina are chased into a subway tunnel by the WLF. After you make your way through the tunnels, you’ll find yourself in an access tunnel with several doors leading off to an office and a break room. In the break room, you’ll find a code locked door leading to a locker room.
To find the code for the locked door in the subway tunnel, you don’t have to look far. On a nearby table, you’ll find a note written on a scrap of paper that reads:
Hey Dewey –
Forget the code again? Get me
a soda, and the code is yours!
-V
This gives you the clue you need for the next step of the puzzle. Nearby, you’ll see a soda machine. Inside is a can with a note taped to it. Break through the glass and grab the soda can to get the memo:
The code is 1-5-2-?-?
Okay, enough hints. If you can’t
figure it out; I’m with the wrong guy!
-V
So, you’re missing two digits. Fortunately, this code panel doesn’t work like others in the game do. Each of the five digits can only be entered once. So, instead of there being five possibilities for each of the two remaining numbers, there are only two: 3 and 4.
Since there are only two possible digits for the unknown numbers in the code, you can use the process of elimination to figure them out. When you do, you’ll come up with the correct combo: 1-5-2-4-3.
