During Ellie’s second day in Seattle in The Last of Us 2, you’ll come upon a convention center. On the second floor of the convention center, there’s a locked door. There’s a rope nearby, and it seems you can use it in some way to enter the locked room.
It’s not obvious how to solve the puzzle of getting into the locked room on the second floor of the community center in The Last of Us 2. There’s no memo to tell you what to do and no helpful hints besides the rope on the floor.
How to get into the locked room in the convention center in The Last of Us 2
Here’s a summary of what you’ll need to do to enter the locked room in the convention center:
- Go to the second floor.
- Break the window.
- Shoot out the glass in the awning across from the locked room.
- Throw the rope over the awning.
- Return to the street.
- Use the rope to climb up and swing into the window leading to the locked room.
Shortly after the sequence with Jesse during Seattle – Day 2, you’ll find yourself in a relatively open stretch of town. There are several areas you can enter here, one of which is the convention center.
Inside the building, you can climb up the elevator shaft to the second floor. Unfortunately, there’s not much up here, but you will notice a locked door and some rope tied to a stack of overturned furniture. It’s easy to tell that you can access the locked room because you can look through the glass in the door and see some goodies on the other side, but how do you do it?
Well, shatter the glass near the furniture the rope is tied to for starters. You can’t just swing over to the locked room with the line. Instead, you’ll need to throw the rope somewhere that will allow you to access the room.
Looking out the window you just shattered, it may seem like the broken piece of pipe from the awning plays a role. It doesn’t. You’ll need to shoot out the glass in the canopy directly across from the window leading into the locked room.
Throw the rope over the pipe through the opening the glass formerly occupied. You can now return to the street outside the convention center and use the line to climb up and then swing into the locked room.
