We’re finally getting our first look at Call of Duty: Vanguard thanks to the latest Warzone special event. And, naturally, the event coincides with the opening of the game’s preorders. If you’re interested in picking up Vanguard early, here’s a look at the differences between the Standard and Ultimate Editions of the game.

Both the Standard and Ultimate Editions of Call of Duty: Vanguard include Operator Arthur Kingsley, the Frontline Weapon Pack, and immediate access to the Night Raid Mastercraft blueprint. The Ultimate Edition also includes the Task Force One Pack as well as the game’s Battle Pass Bundle.

The Standard Edition of Vanguard costs $59.99, and still includes plenty of bonuses. The Ultimate Edition costs $99.99, but does at least include the first season’s Battle Pass in addition to the Frontline Weapon Pack.

Worth mentioning is that the cross-generation version of the Standard Edition costs $10 more, putting the PS5 and Series X|S version at $69.99.

Standard vs. Ultimate Edition differences: What’s included?

Which edition of Call of Duty: Vanguard is best for you depends on what sort of extra goodies you’re hoping to receive. Here’s a closer look at the bonuses provided with each edition:

  • Standard Edition
    • Call of Duty: Vangard, the base game itself
    • Early access to game’s open beta
    • Night Raid Mastercraft Weapon blueprint, which can be used immediately in Black Ops Cold War and
    • Warzone
    • Operator Arthur Kingsley, who will arrive in Cold War and Warzone at a later date
    • Frontline Weapon Pack, including two weapon blueprints
    • Five hours of Weapons 2XP
  • Ultimate Edition
    • Task Force One Pack, including three operator skins and three weapon blueprints with tracers
    • Battle Pass Bundle, including the Season 1 Battle Pass and 20 Tier skips
    • Five more hours of Weapons 2XP (10 total)
    • Every other bonus included in the Standard Edition

No matter which version you buy, you’ll also be able to check out the latest Zombies mode developed by Treyarch Studios.

Where to preorder

Preorders for Call of Duty: Vanguard are currently live on the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, and Battle.net. The full PC system requirements have not yet been revealed, but they’ll surely be revealed very soon.

The big difference between the Standard and Ultimate Edition of Call of Duty: Vanguard is the Battle Pass and Frontline Weapons Pack. Otherwise, all preorders are eligible to join the open beta and preload the game ahead of its release date later this year.
