Call of Duty: Vanguard will feature a full campaign and a new Zombies mode. Given that previous titles have skipped one or the other, fans were nervous that the game would be missing one or both modes, but the pre-order page confirmed that Vanguard will give us the full experience across campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies.
Does Call of Duty: Vanguard have a campaign and new Zombies?
The pre-order page for Call of Duty: Vanguard went life ahead of the game’s reveal in Warzone. It confirmed definitively that the game would have a full campaign and a new Zombies developed by Treyarch Studios.
We don’t know much about what the campaign will entail except that it’ll be set in World War II, but the description makes it seem like this might be one of the most expansive Call of Duty single-player experiences ever:
“Experience influential battles of World War II as you fight for victory across multiple theaters of war. The Call of Duty: Vanguard campaign will immerse you in a deeply engaging and gripping character-driven narrative experience featuring combat on an unparalleled global scale while also telling the harrowing stories of those who turned the tides of war and changed history forever.”
Unfortunately, there are even less details about Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies:
“Prove your mettle as you try to survive the relentless onslaught of the undead in a chilling new Zombies experience, developed by Treyarch Studios.”
Call of Duty: Vanguard will be the first Sledgehammer-headed entry in the franchise since 2017’s Call of Duty: WWII. The studio was originally heading up the development on Black Ops Cold War. However, disagreements with fellow studio Raven Software led Activision to assign Treyarch Studios as lead development on the game. Some have hypothesized that this is the reason that Cold War had a more rushed feel than the proceeding game, Modern Warfare.
