Call of Duty: Vanguard Setting and Time Period: When is it set?

Has the Call of Duty: Vanguard setting been revealed? While the game has finally been confirmed by Activision Blizzard, the official Call of Duty: Vanguard reveal is happening in Call of Duty: Warzone this Thursday, August 19. It has long been rumored that the new Call of Duty game would once again return to the Second World War, so has a Call of Duty: Vanguard WW2 setting been confirmed yet, or are fans yet to find out?

What is the Call of Duty: Vanguard setting?

Call of Duty Vanguard setting

Call of Duty: Vanguard is to be set during World War II.

This is if leaks prove accurate. the Call of Duty: Vanguard setting seems that it will once again be the time period between 1939-1945.

While Activision Blizzard has not outright said this, the most recent teaser and artwork above strongly hint at Call of Duty’s return to WW2, following up from 2019’s Call of Duty: WW2. Seeing as the first three games in the Call of Duty series were all set in this time period, another return seems a safe choice after Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

The official teaser revealed on the Call of Duty Twitter feed also hints at the specific settings during the Second World War that Vanguard may take place in. The video features four parts that seem to represent four major locations in WW2. In the order they appear in the video, these are the Eastern Front, the North African Campaign, the Western Front, and the Pacific Front. Various weapons and imagery from World War 2 can be seen throughout.

Unless Activision Blizzard is about to pull a bait-and-switch, which seems very unlikely, then Call of Duty: Vanguard will be set during the Second World War once again. The official reveal of Vanguard will come during Call of Duty: Warzone, in which Season 5 is still going on and will be until the beginning of October, with a WW2-themed map rumored to drop in advance of Vanguard.
