The brand-new Marshal shotgun hit Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War earlier this month and has been causing havoc since. This broomstick is a secondary weapon that players can dual-wield, making it particularly devastating. With that in mind, many users are wondering if a CoD: Black Ops Cold War Marshal nerf is incoming. But, do Treyarch and Activision currently have plans to release a Marshal update nerfing the OP gun? Here’s the latest.
Is the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Marshal getting a nerf?
There are no current plans to launch a Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Marshal nerf. Many CoD: BOCW players feel that the gun is overpowered when dual-wielding, so the dev team could reassess should nerf requests continue.
A lot of players believe that Treyarch recently took a step backward by buffing the Black Ops Cold War Marshal shotgun. A glitch was preventing users from applying the Dragon’s Breath attachment to both Marshals when dual-wielding; now there’s a resolution to the issue, which makes the combination even more effective.
Update: The fix for this issue went live this morning at 10AM. Thank you for your reports! https://t.co/zrZTovufPL

It’s not uncommon for new Call of Duty guns to start out OP — in fact, it’s somewhat intentional. All-new firearms are usually the most powerful to encourage players to utilize them, rather than sticking with their current loadouts. While players generally acknowledge this, the Marshal is on another level. While shotguns are a secondary weapon class as standard in Black Ops Cold War (which some disagree with), others aren’t available to dual-wield. Essentially doubling the already high firepower makes them a nightmare for anybody that comes up against them.
Hopefully, a new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War update or patch will nerf Marshal dual-wielders and help level the playing field. Stay tuned to GameRevolution for updates.
Until then, why not check out some of the latest news? PlayStation fans have Bethesda reiterating that Starfield isn’t coming to PS5. There’s also a new Fortnite update, Crew pack details, and The Batman crossover.
