Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.11

Fans React Positively to Gran Turismo 7 Update That Fixes Credit Payouts

As promised by Kazunori Yamauchi, President of Polyphony Digital, the developer has released its first patch for its latest racing simulator in the form of Gran Turismo 7 update 1.11 that aims to fix the general economy of the game. As it mainly improves the rewards and credit payouts for numerous races in Gran Turismo 7, many fans have begun to change their minds about the game and believe that it is finally on the right track.

How is the community on Reddit and Metacritic reacting to Gran Turismo 7 update 1.11?

By and large, while the 1.11 patch doesn’t resolve every issue that fans have had with Gran Turismo 7, the response has been generally positive on both Reddit and Metacritic. The full patch notes can be found in a lengthy post on the official Gran Turismo website, but among the extensive changes made, fans have primarily reacted well to the increased rewards for the Circuit Experience.

For instance, achieving all Gold on Fisherman’s Ranch Gold nets players 2 million credits, while getting all Gold on the difficult Nordschleife course awards 5 million credits. With credit rewards being increased, particularly in the latter half of the World Circuit events, many players are relieved that grinding through the difficult races now feel worth the challenge.

Some fans also appreciate the new changes for steering controllers whose buttons have now been better mapped to menu navigation. They also approve of the new race events on the World Circuit including the 1-hour endurance races.

One Reddit user named SMIDG3T has also noticed some features that weren’t mentioned in the full patch notes, including the Hagerty Collection being increased from four to ten cars and the Used Car Collection now having 30 cars at one time. The new roulette wheel has new animations, is now full-screen, and seems to be more rewarding with the daily spin.

Sorting by date on Metacritic, the latest user reviews for Gran Turismo 7 are generally positive as well, with some users changing their scores altogether. In time, this may help turn around the user rating of 1.8/10 (at the time of this writing) as the game continues to receive regular patches.

However, users are still frustrated that Gran Turismo 7 is an always-online game given that most of the content is offline and single-player. Online races don’t seem to be worth the credits even after the boost to rewards, and the microtransactions for credits remain exorbitantly off-kilter compared to those in GT Sport. The user interface for multiplayer lobbies and menu playlists also need improvement.

Future patches for Gran Turismo 7 are slated for April and beyond that will allow players to sell cars, add Online Time Trails, and 24-hour endurance races.

In other news, Rogue Legacy 2 is leaving early access and will be releasing on PC and Xbox, while Elden Ring sits the top of the PSN’s charts for most-downloaded game in March 2022.
