There is currently no set release date for The Batman 2. Upcoming DC movie releases include Black Adam, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, and the controversial release of The Flash. The DC film with the farthest release date is Joker: Folie á Deux, releasing on October 4, 2024.

With the current state at Warner Bros., fans may be waiting till late 2024 or early 2025 to catch more of Bruce Wayne and his ascent into becoming a symbol of hope for Gotham City.

Who is in The Batman 2 cast?

Robert Pattinson will be reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman in The Batman 2. At CinemaCon 2022, Warner Bros. announced that Pattinson would return for the sequel, as well as director Matt Reeves behind the camera. A Batman movie is never complete without Alfred Pennyworth, so it is likely Andy Serkis will be returning to his role from the first film.

No other actors have been confirmed to return yet, but there are many possibilities for familiar faces. Colin Farrell will be portraying The Penguin again in his HBO Max spin-off series, and he may return for the new Batman sequel as well. Furthermore, the ending of The Batman features Barry Keoghan in a cameo appearance as the Joker. While the Joker remains in Arkham Asylum, we could always end up seeing more of him in the future.

There is no word yet on which foe the Caped Crusader will be taking on in this film. Pattinson has expressed interest in doing the Court of Owls, an underground society ruling Gotham for centuries. He is also interested in taking on Calendar Man, a villain who commits crimes that correspond with holidays.

Director Matt Reeves is considering a grounded take on Mr. Freeze, a Batman adversary who has not appeared in a film since Arnold Schwarzenegger’s portrayal in Batman & Robin. Reeves has also considered the possibility of having Hush as the villain. In the comics, Hush is Bruce’s childhood friend who becomes a surgeon and allies with the Riddler to go after Batman.

With years before the release of the film, the possibilities are limitless for who Batman will face. However, with Pattinson donning the cape and cowl and Reeves in the director’s chair, our expectations are high for this superhero event.
