The Like A Dragon Gaiden Kappa is something that Kazuma Kiryu is asked to find. In an Akame Network quest called “How ‘Bout Them Kappas”, a man along the river that runs through Sotenbori requests Kiryu to find whatever a kappa is. Unless you remember what that is by playing through prior games in the Yakuza or Like a Dragon series, this may not what the man is talking about. More than that, trying to find this kappa is difficult since it could be anywhere in Sotenbori. Here’s the location of the kappa statue in Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
Where is the Like a Dragon Gaiden kappa location?
The kappa is actually a sort of monster statue that you can find on the other side of the river that’s essentially across from where the quest giver is sitting. You can take a look at the screenshot of the statue below to figure out where you’re supposed to go.
Fans who played Yakuza: Like A Dragon will recall the quest that had you find all the kappa statues around Ijincho as part of the part-time hero questline. That quest was quite difficult because of how many of these figures you had to find. This time around, you thankfully only need find one of them.
Once you locate the statue and return to the man, you will receive 1,000 Akame Network points and 40,000 yen. That’s not a bad reward for a small amount of your time.
The kappa is a popular figure in Japanese folklore. It is a sort of a minor reptilian god that is usually depicted as greenish humanoids with webbed hands and feet and a turtle-like shell. It is one of the most well-known yokais, which are kind of like monsters, and some shrines worship the kappa as an avatar of various water gods.
Other Akame Network requests that ask Kiryu to find somewhat obscure objects include the Ono Michio figurine and the Kuidaore Taro mechanical clown.
