The Destiny 2 server status for The Final Shape expansion is something players are concerned about. Many are experiencing servers being down, offline, or unavailable, with a pop-up message with an “Attention” warning stating specifically that the Destiny 2 servers are not available. The only thing that the players are told to do is to dismiss the warning and try again or to head to Bungie’s help page for more information. Here’s the status of the Destiny 2 servers for The Final Shape DLC.
What is the Destiny 2 server status?
The Destiny 2 server status is currently spotty at the time of writing. Many players around the world have posted images and screenshots on Twitter and Reddit revealing that they are indeed playing the new DLC, along with Twitch streamers being able to enter a server. However, other players report that they still are not able to enter Destiny 2 servers, so it looks like they are being refreshed and will take some time to get back online.
Why are Destiny 2 servers down and not available?
The Destiny 2 servers are down and not available due to the latest Update 8.0.0.1 and required server maintenance.
It is possible that the D2 servers are unavailable in your particular region at the moment as Bungie needs to update and refresh all of the servers across the globe.
When will Destiny 2 servers be back up for Final Shape?
It’s unclear when the Destiny 2 servers will be back online for The Final Shape and when players will stop having log-in issues.
This comes from the official Bungie Help Twitter account, which posted around 11:00 AM PT that the developer is “investigating reports of players logging into the game experiencing sign-on issues or being placed in a queue.”
In a later post at around 11:30 AM PT, Bungie recommends that players who have sign-on issues should “try restarting their game, console, or launcher to attempt to alleviate these issues.” We recommend tracking this official account to see when the servers are fully back for all players and when these log-in problems will be fixed.
Bungie has also posted a list of known issues on The Final Shape, including issues with mission progress if players join a fireteam in mid-session or swap characters during the game. PC players using 3D audio will also not hear any output but the developer has listed a workaround for the issue.
