Lords of the Fallen Sold 1 Million Units in 10 Days

The Lords of the Fallen follow-up hasn’t let its confusing name to keep it from commercial success. According to the publisher CI Games, the dark fantasy action RPG sold over one million units in the first ten days.

Lord of the Fallen passes huge sales milestone

Released on October 13th, CI Games and Hexworks’ Lords of the Fallen is a sequel and soft reboot of the 2014 game of the same name. The Soulslike RPG sees players tasked with lighting five beacons to prevent the return of the dark god Adyr. One of its key features is how when a player dies, they are transported to Umbral, the land of the dead. They must then find their way back to the mortal world of Axiom.

One million units sold in ten days may not make Lords of the Fallen the fastest-selling RPG of its generation. However, it’s an impressive launch for CI Games and developer Hexworks.

“To see this fresh and innovative take on the action RPG achieve one million sales in just ten days has been humbling for everybody at HEXWORKS and CI Games,” CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski told Wccftech.

Hexworks studio head Saul Gascon also thanked the players who supported the game. “We’re incredibly grateful to the passionate Lords of the Fallen community for their invaluable feedback and ongoing support,” said Gascon. “It’s their unwavering dedication that has made this success possible, and we couldn’t be prouder to share it with them.”

Lords of the Fallen hasn’t seen the best critical reception, with some reviewers criticizing its tedious gameplay and backtracking. Others did not like the game’s balance or the lack of relatable characters. Still, the second Lords of the Fallen seems to have found its audience.
