Getting 100% completion in Super Mario Odyssey is a challenge. You have to get every Power Moon; complete every level, challenge, and bonus stage; and grab every one of the purple Regional Coins. It’s quite a feat considering there’s a ton of things to do and collect in the game. After doing so much, you’ll be surprised that there’s a nice bonus section for your hard work getting Super Mario Odyssey to 100%.
What Happens When You Get 100% Completion in Super Mario Odyssey?
You’ll need to get the last of the main Power Moons (which are the ones that can be earned in each level, not the ones you can purchase). Once you collect it, you’ll get three rewards.
Odyssey Gold Sails
The sails on the Odyssey will turn gold, marking your accomplishment of getting every Power Moon. It looks great, and every Goomba and Dry Bones will know just how awesome you are.

Fight Hard Mode Bowser
You’ll also get a chance to fight the hard version of Bowser. You might have noticed when you were fighting the hard versions of the other bosses in the various bonus challenges in the Mushroom Kingdom that Bowser was nowhere to be found. Well, after getting 100% in Super Mario Odyssey you can return to the Wedding Chapel in the Moon Kingdom to find a new painting of Bowser.
Once you jump into the painting, you’ll be taken to the hard version of the final part of the game. Once you beat him, you’ll have to do the sequence with the falling rocks again.
Thank You and Postcard
Once you get through the falling rocks portion of the game, you’ll get to see the ending again. However, this time at the end of the credits you’ll get a thank you message from Mario and a postcard featuring the major characters of Super Mario Odyssey. A small token that shows just how much you accomplished by fully completing the game.
