Right now at the time of publishing, there is currently State of Decay 2 Early Access going on. This period of early access is only for a select group of players, which we will detail in a little bit. Not only that, but the early access is only for a specific period of time. Unlike other online games, this early access is limited.
Though those who are currently playing right now (and mentioned in our own review) might say that it certainly seems like the State of Decay 2 Early Access will probably go on much longer than you’d expect considering the sheer number of bugs and issues that the game is having right now. But how long is it really?
State of Decay 2 Early Access: How to Get In
Let’s first preface this by saying that not everyone is able to get into the State of Decay 2 Early Access period. This is because it is solely for those who purchase the Ultimate Edition of the game, which also comes with the original game and two expansion DLC packs that arrive at a later date.
For reference, the Ultimate Edition costs $49.99 USD while the normal version is only $29.99. With such a big price gap between the two games, it is certainly worth weighing the costs of if the State of Decay 2 Early Access is worth it for you.
State of Decay 2 Early Access: How Long is Early Access, Release Date
The actual State of Decay 2 Early Access is already going on right now if you’re reading this. It is for a total of four days of extra gameplay before the rest of the users are able to check the game out. The early access period began yesterday on Friday, May 18th, 2018. It is going right now through the global launch of the game for everyone else on Tuesday, May 22nd, 2018.
It’s worth noting that while the game is going to be available as part of the Xbox Game Pass program, the State of Decay 2 Early Access does not apply to Game Pass subscribers. Essentially, you are getting the standard edition of the game as a subscriber so you won’t be able to play it until it releases on May 22nd.
